I do not believe in privatization of public services. I want to help my fellow citizens, not corporate CEOs.

R. PIKSER (New York, 2022-03-14)

I am a future retiree and I don't wish to have my future benefits diminished.
And, I do vote!

Bert Grossman (NEW YORK, 2022-03-14)

I am very concerned about NYC doing a bait & switch & the additional almost $400 (myself & husband) to keep what we have.

Sheila Schraier (Yorktown Heights, 2022-03-14)

I am 77 years old and worked very hard at my job for many years. My health is not great and I need to continue seeing my specialists. I find it difficult to make ends meet now and with the new plan the costs would be even higher. We were guaranteed a particular health plan when we joined the union and can't understand how it can change mid-stream.

martha tardibuono (high falls, ny, 2022-03-14)

#2210

Completely satisfied with my current insurance and service providers.
The option of my current healthcare benefits I thought was guaranteed when I signed up to work for the city for 41 years.

I'm opposed to privatizing healthcare insurance.

I spent 34 years teaching the children of NYC. Believe me, it wasn't for the salary. The promise of free health care at retirement helped to encourage me to stay as long as I did. Taking it away, limiting my choices or benefits is a slap in the face for the loyalty I've shown to NYC.

PATRICIA PAN (SUNNYSIDE, NY, 2022-03-14)

#2215

I am signing because like many of you, we agreed to zero raises or minimum raises in exchange for our health benefits. The benefits were promised to us for life. This is turning your back on so many. Think of those who have been retired for many years and those who retired from low paying positions, and can not afford to opt out.

Matt Bromme (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2222

We had a contract when we began working. The terms of the contract must be carried through our retirement.

Yves Mikol (New Paltz, 2022-03-14)

#2223

I want to keep what was promised to us. Our Medicare Senior Care with no changes or monthly fee. I worked many years for NYC Please do not appeal Judge Franks decision. I know you will understand as a former NYC Retire.

Robert Zimmer (Ocean View, 2022-03-14)

#2224

I WORKED FOR 45 YEARS. I WAS PROMISED AND ASSURED NO CHANGES IN HEALTH CARE. I CANT AFFIRD ANY EXTRA PREMIUMS, LET ALONE ILL-INFORMED INDIVIDUALS WITH NO MEDICAL EDUCATION TO DECIDE MY HEALTH COVERAGE.
MAYOR ADAMS, YOU ARE IN THE SAME PREDICAMENT. DO NOT APPEAL THE COURTS RULING!!!!!!!
LET US KEEP THE INSURANCES WE HAVE AND NOT BE FORCED INTO A DEAL WITH THE CORRUPT ALLIANCE GROUP!!!!!!!! THEY HAVE ALREADY STOLEN HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS FROM MEDICARE!!!!!!

I am a senior who worked for the BOE for 30 years. My husband worked at a suburban school at a much higher salary, but with an inferior health plan. His pension is much higher and now his health insurance is better.
My husband has passed on and I have a neurological disease. At this point I cannot start looking for new doctors or wait for pre authorizations.
I spent my youth and middle age dedicated to the City. Don’t “throw me (and other retirees) under the bus.”

Suzanne Branch (Great Neck, 2022-03-14)

#2238

When I retired, CONTRACTUALLY, I was ENROLLED in Medicare and a Supplement.
I and many others feel that the City of NY should honor that agreement.

Nicholas Visconti (Cornwall on Hudson, 2022-03-14)

#2240

I’m signing this petition because this proposed plan diminishes my access to medical care. My current healthcare providers will not accept MAP and it will impact our Medicare coverage.

William Flynn (Leland, 2022-03-14)

#2241

I have been so upset about the proposed changes to my health plan. These changes to a Medicare Advantage Plus Plan will seriously impact the fixed income on which I live. I have health issues that require tests that I do not want to see denied due to insurance company decisions.

Clifford Malat (NYC, 2022-03-14)

#2244

Stop stealing money from those who have served the city!

James Bauer (Holden Beach, 2022-03-14)

#2246

Switching to Medicare Advantage Plan Plus puts the most vulnerable age group at risk by jepordazing their ability to keep their doctors and interfering with doctor’s recommended treatment.

Claude Pompo (Staten Island, 2022-03-14)

#2256

I want the mayor to honor the commitment made to us regarding Senior Care. Retirees are entitled to excellent medical care that cannot be gotten with MAPP. We worked for less when the city needed us to. We were promised the Senior care type coverage then. We worked for this. We earned this.

Jane Weiss (Tarrytown, 2022-03-14)

#2257

I'm signing because as a former government employee I want to keep original Medicare and not lose my current health benefits. As a person who worked in the public sector for 30 years, I feel it is wrong to put us in the position of having to choose an inferior, PRIVATE, free health plan like Medical Advantage

Gale Lichter (New York, 2022-03-14)

#2261

I’m signing because why fix some thing that isn’t broken

Joan Gentile (Waynesboro, 2022-03-14)

#2269

Worried about Medicare. I do not want Medicare advantage. A lot of doctors won’t take it.

Barbara Schwartz (Bronx, 2022-03-14)

#2272

My husband and I have numerous health issues. I am a world trade survivor. We went back to school and breathed in the smoke for six months. My doctors have said Medicare will cover some procedures but they will not accept the new plan.

Brenda Naliboff (Yonkers, 2022-03-14)

#2273

This very underhanded move will financially hurt people forcing them into the advantage plan. Not giving them a choice in the matter

Linda Urbanski (NY, 2022-03-14)

I retired in 2002 after 30 years of City service. I was told upon retirement my HEALTH BENEFITS would follow me into retirement without cost or interruption.. Please Mr. Mayor don't change the rules on retirees now or in the future.. My income is FIXED, my health is deteriorating. I need my health care as is ... Thank you .....

Brendan Keeney (HENDERSONVILLE, 2022-03-14)

I made life altering decisions based on the contract that I had with the city. These decisions cannot be undone without significantly impacting my financial security and quality of life. I don’t think it is fair for the city to change the rules at this juncture.

I think it is fundamentally unfair to change the rules of the game at the end of the game.

Karen Stephenson (Bronx, 2022-03-14)

#2320

Do not want insurance company to decide what tests and procedures can be done. Between me and my doctor.

Jeffrey Shostak (Franklin square, 2022-03-14)

#2322

we should not have to pay $400 per month per couple for medical insurance that was part of our retirement at the time we retired. that was the contract at the time and you can't change a past contract. the judge got it right.

john caputo (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2326

I want to have choice in keeping my current health or one of my choosing and not what is decided for me. Also, I worked 30 years for the NYC , take care of me and other workers.

MIldred Santos (Bronx, 2022-03-14)

#2327

This is an inferior plan to what I retired with and was promised for my retirement years. Underlying conditions necessitate many tests during the year. Getting oks for each test would not be viable. I would be unable to wait and am frightened that they would not be approved. My present drs. Are not necessarily taking the new plan. Too many unknowns and much misinformation.

I prefer to select my own insurance plan and not feel like I have few or no options.

Carmen V. Pizarro (New York City, 2022-03-14)

#2332

I’m signing because I believe retirees should not be forced into a MAP that is uncertain and a money maker for the City of New York.

Joanette Walker-Ragsdale (Carrsville, 2022-03-14)

#2333

I want to be able to keep my Medicare Senior Care without having to pay monthly as I am retired on a fixed income.

Robert Cuccio (Baldwin, 2022-03-14)

#2335

I am signing because my husband worked for City of NY for almost 30 years and took less pay because he was told that in exchange he would keep the healthcare plan he had for life, after he retired. We are now both 70+ years old on limited incomes and my husband has serious health issues and cannot risk changing cardiologists and spinal specialists. By forcing us to now pay $400/month to keep GHI you are putting huge financial pressure on us, but we have no choice as if he had an advantage plan, he would be dead now as waiting for reapproval's whilst he had 99% blockage in his heart would have killed him Due to abandon the contract NYC retirees worked under for decades. Stop the erosion of our healthcare benefits. Do the right thing - do what is morally right for current retires.

Erica Felman (Verona, 2022-03-14)

#2336

New plan is not what we were promised during our years of service.

Retired nurse after 50 years of working in Queens Hospital and Elmhurst. Much was sacrificed in hope of medical care as promised Please keep present coverage

Rosemary Hoffmann (Malverne, 2022-03-14)

#2344

Im signing because its already difficult to find doctors out or N.Y. right now when you switch to the M.A.P. its going to be that I have to drive all the way into N.Y. just to see a doctor and I am partially disabled now.

Jesus Sanchez (ALLENTOWN, 2022-03-14)

#2356

This is not what retirees were promised. Totally unfair!!

Marilyn Kamen (Jericho, 2022-03-14)

#2360

I am signing because I am entitled to keep my Medicare and not have to pay additional 191. I have many medical conditions that will need prior -authorizations. Our health should not be compromised by switching us to MAP.

Paula Meshel (Monroetownship New Jersey 08831, 2022-03-14)

#2361

I’m signing because my union played a bait and switch on it’s retired members as did our new mayor. Mayor adams you were against the plan when you were running for office. Please stick with those words. We don’t want this new plan

Grace Campana (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2367

I worked many extra hours at Bellevue Hospital as the Child Protection Coordinator without any compensation. I was promised health care benefits which you are now planning to charge me and which will greatly diminish my pension.

Frances Levitt (NY, 2022-03-14)

The NYC Medicare Plus is risky where I live. It took years to get the Emblem Plan accepted. This is a dice roll again. There is no need to introduce uncertainty where none is required.

“Silver sneakers” is a meaningless term. I am a NYC retiree not living in NYC. I am provided a lesser plan as a consequence of residence.

The contrived fee totally lacking empiricism is intended to leverage my participation to accept the proposed plan. NYC is using an economic gun to my head, the way the allied nations are doing to Russia. The monthly charge is a BIG FAT UNSUBSTATIATED LIE lacking relevance and substance.

The abusive treatment of retirees by NYC tells me to expect poor decisions from the administrator lackeys who will get performance gelt by squeezing the retirees.

Abuse the next generation of retirees if that is your intent. Grandfather in the current retirees into the existing plan. Leave well enough alone.

Bloomberg took care of the retirees. Nothing changed. This is a made up need to squeeze more money from the retirees.

I suspect the plan is on the career path of Mayor de Blasio. He will have had an undisclosed conflict of interest invalidating his decision. Future mayors, comptrollers, etc. need to be barred from employment in these types of arrangements.

I do not want to see the Medicare program coopted by private companies whose bottom line is profit, not the public they should be serving.

Bob Schulof (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2400

I’m signing because I feel the New Advantage Plan is inferior to what I have and I dont feel I should pay for GHI Senior Care. I was Promised upon retirement that this plan will be free.
