I am from the class of '74 at GHS, and now I live in Canada. ALL the way up here I have heard about this controversy, and I believe in Dr. Whitfield and don't want him to be terminated.

Janet Smith (Barrie, 2021-09-06)

#2017

Despicable racist attitude here. The pics were up 10 years and were up for 2 years AFTER he was hired. No one had any problems with Dr Whitfield.

I’m signing because my daughter is a student at Colleyville Heritage High School and I support Mr. Whitfield. Mr. Whitfield has earned his position and the allegations are ridiculous and is not a ground for termination.

Our children and community deserve a leader like Mr Whitfield.

melanie galaviz (Arlington, 2021-09-07)

Dr. Whitfield was my AP in middle school and I have never had an administrator that cared more about students and making them feel good about school. I will not stand for slander against his name.

#2036

Because I’m sick and tired of the rampant racism in this school district. He’s a good highly qualified man who who you’re school district is lucky to have!

#2045

Dr Whitfield does not deserve this treatment. He's a great and loved educator and his suspension is only hurting the students who love him.

Shereé Malatesta (Ft Worth, 2021-09-10)

#2047

I have to say that targeting and attacking an esteemed Educator who was promoted to his position is beyond ridiculous and completely disrespectful. This is nuts. Take down a picture of him and his wife? Let that sink in. What? I had to read that several times. Is it 1950? Aren’t we supposed to be adults who have respect for humankind? This is embarrassing and utterly ridiculous. I would hope that other board members who are elected to these positions would know better and voice opposition to this kind of rhetoric and purposeful targeting. What happened to the Golden Rule? Obviously, it’s absent during board meetings and the like. When they go low, we go high.

#2059

He did nothing wrong, it’s racism in this stinking state!

Elizabeth Rhodes (Frisco, 2021-09-10)

#2067

I'm signing the petition because the removal of a Principal from his position with the GCSID because of the color of his skin is horrific in this day and time. There is more education, initiative, grace, compassion for students, and personality shown by Dr. Whitfield than any other person in an Official position at GCISD. The students are his first priority. He knows the students by name and interacts with them in an appropriate manner.
Dr. Whitfield has been wronged for no legal reason! In my opinion, the Officials of GCISD are showing racism and bigotry in their decision to remove Dr. Whitfield from his position as Principal. This behavior is from hundreds of years ago and has no legality in this day and age. I am standing with Dr. Whitfield in this matter, and hoping that the GCISD will see the error of their ways and make this situation right..

Racism and oppression have no part in public education. The way your school board has treated Dr. Whitfield is shameful. It’s the racist pigs in your community that should be suffering reprisals from this interaction, not your excellent school principal.

Robyn Risenhoover (Fort Worth, 2021-09-13)

#2087

Dr. Whitfield is being unfairly disciplined and there has not been any evidence presented to substantiate the claims made against him. I fully belief he is being punished for being a black man in a relationship with a white woman and refusing to hide their love from the world. I support Dr. Whitfield and I am confident that even if GC decides to not renew his contract, a different school district will employ him in a heartbeat!

Meghan Chiasson (Dallas, 2021-09-13)

Right is right and wrong is wrong. I stand with Dr Whitfield.

Julie Carter (Lubbock, 2021-09-13)

I have been a student of Dr. Whitfield's, my step children have been students of his as well. I have never met a more humble, caring man my entire life! The accusations and absolute disrespect that him and his family have undergone throughout this experience is absolutely discusting. Dr. Whitfield helped me through a lot in my teenage years not to mention hundreds if not thousands of others.

Good people don't deserve this type of treatment, nobody deserves this for that matter.

Dr. James Whitfield is an upstanding member of the community and the field of education. To penalize him for the absurd allegations against him would be an affront to every member of GCISD and the surrounding communities.

#2110

Dr. Whitfield is a great, well-rounded individual who has a beautiful heart for EVERYONE!!! Young, old, black, white, disabled, etc…..he teaches diversity by honoring everyone at his school. He did it at HMS and at CHHS! He said if only one person is from that country, then we will represent, and he did just that. Keep doing what you’re doing sir! God is in control!

Felicia Parker (Euless, 2021-09-13)

#2112

Dr James Whitfield is the kindest soul who cares about our students & helping them have bright futures. He is the most supportive & humble man I know. He puts everyone before himself & is a light to anyone who crosses his path. He has an amazing family & I would 100% put my trust in him for any task. Not having him represent your school would probably hinder the amazing things your district could accomplish.

Summer Canfield (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-13)

#2115

To know Dr Whitfield is to know this Man's dedication to his work and to his students. Look no further than to this petition, and their voices throughout the many activities they, themselves organized in support of their beloved Principal! The reality of this unfortunate series of events, and it's affect on the students, is best reflective in what my Son said at our dinner table recently. He's an 8th grader at HMS, and had Dr. Whitfield only one year as HMS principal before his promotion to CHHS. "It's not fair what's happening! They've taken Dr Whitfield from me twice now", he said. The BS that's happening on the board, and from the administration has to stop! You're making a mockery of the educational system, and only hurting the students with your politically motivated sh&^t show. If your true intention is for the benefit of your students, then listen to their voices. Do the right thing, and give the students, my children, back their leader, who's only motivation is to make sure every student has a positive & productive experience at CHHS.

Nguyen Le (Grapevine, 2021-09-13)

#2117

Because Dr. Whitfield has been an upstanding person in this community for many years. People don't just change overnight. I think the school is just making problems where there is none. I was proud of the students for standing up and staging a walk out. Give this man his job back and let him continue to bring good to this community.

Bobbi Fields (Richland Hills, 2021-09-13)

#2124

We are new to the district but we chose this community to raise our family because of the highly-regarded diverse school district led by dedicated educators like Dr. Whitfield who make such a difference in our kids’ lives and teach them emotional intelligence as well as academic intelligence.

As parents, we owe nothing but gratitude and support to the educators, teachers, administrators, volunteers and staff of GCISD (who have quite literally risked their lives and given their time so generously to be there for our children despite an incredibly challenging year.) They deserve our support and so much more.

We owe it to our kids to lead by example and teach them with honesty and responsibility about our past, our present and our future. It helps them to make more empathetic, informed choices and grow up to be compassionate, good human beings who choose love over hate. There should be no debate over that.

Dr. Whitfield has my unwavering support. As a parent and a member of this community, I thank him for his voice, his leadership, and his strength.

Jaime Paxton Morey (Grapevine, 2021-09-13)

The actions of the board are clearly driven by racist parents and rhetoric, rather than the welfare of the students. This is unfair and unwise. The young generation deserves quality educators like Dr Whitfield.

melody monroe (Moffat, 2021-09-14)

#2160

I’m signing because Dr. Whitfield doesn’t deserve what the district is putting him and his family through. It is a true testimony of his character to see him remain so positive and strong in his faith through it all. He is a light in the darkness even at a level of unfairness that most cannot relate to. God bless you Dr. Whitfield and your family! I know God is working in big ways through this and He has great plans for you. Continued prayers through this.

#2168

A former teacher of mine called my attention to this and it is wrong what is happening to this principle. First of all these sound like fakes accusations. Second why were these out of line parents not disciplined?
Third, “critical race theory” isn’t real, there is actual history (what is being called CRT) and there is doctored history to make us white people feel better. We should want our children educated correctly.

Lindie Nelms (Arlington, 2021-09-14)

#2170

I’m signing because I know Dr Whitfield and he is nothing like the person he’s being accused of being. He’s a much better man than many of us and someone to look up to.

Pedro Cruz (Grapevine, 2021-09-14)

#2171

It sounds like racism to me from the parents and the superintendent. The principal did not teach race theory, his job is to oversee teachers, how could he have taught something to students. He does not deserve to lose his job this way.

Hannah Griffin (Midland, 2021-09-14)

#2178

Dr. Whitfield was the best principle my daughter had all through middle school. He's promotes education not racism.

He gives his whole heart and soul to his students and is always there for each and every one of them. He makes students want to learn and makes it fun for them. Coach, keep up all the hard work and don’t let them tear you down. I will always have your back like you always had ours at RHS. #IStandWithDrWhitfield
