STOP WEELEY FIREWORKS! SAVE THE LIVESTOCK AND ANIMALS

I still cannot understand why, in 2020 people are still able to purchase fireworks.
With the threat of terrorism always in the background, why on earth are the public allowed to buy gunpowder without a licence???
If I wanted a gun I would need a licence, why not for gun powder.
When is this stupid government going to stop this once and for all.
Why are we still celebrating a failure by Guy Fawkes to blow up the houses of parliament.
We are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers. I doubt this very much going by the atrocities that this government allow to happen to livestock and people's pets.

The only benefit from thus is money. People should not be attending entertainments like this in the pandemic; fireworks are bad for livestock, wildlife and domestic animals.

Sarah Fahy (London, 2020-10-21)

#2006

My dog nearly died due to being so stressed out from the fireworks.

Marie Whitehead (Ferryhill, 2020-10-21)

#2007

The display must be relocated.

Patrick Edwards (Wooler, 2020-10-21)

#2009

Fireworks are harmful to the majority of animals, and a certain amount of humans.
Fireworks should only be allowed at official firework displays.

Peter Evans (Cleethorpes, 2020-10-21)

#2010

This is completely inappropriate and selfish

Irene.howie@sky.com Howie (Walsall, 2020-10-21)

I’m signing because we need to protect the vulnerable in society and in thaw more general animal world!

Tim Finch (Horsham, 2020-10-21)

The stress, upset and suffering that fireworks causes animals is harrowing and completely unnecessary PLEASE have thought for the animals ❤️

Fireworks have no business being let off around animals

Alison Brown (Ayr, 2020-10-21)

#2031

I'm signing this petition because I disagree with fireworks being used where they can cause distress to animals. I believe if we must have fireworks then they should only be used in an area well away from housing and farms.
This is without the fact that every year we allow people to buy hundreds of explosive devices people are actually celebrating a terrorist attack on parliament and why ae members of the public once a year allowed to buy and carry explosive devices on are streets these could be made into a bigger and more dangerous explosive device if public where to be caught carrying a gun or knife on a public street they would be arrested and charged yet every year the public carry explosives around are streets and nothing is done they are just as dangerous and could kill people if used wrongly.

David SHEPPARD (Basildon, 2020-10-21)

I have dog terrified of fireworks so appreciate the distress this will cause

Carolyn Sutherland (Grimsby, 2020-10-21)

#2036

I think it is outrageous that an event like this should be allowed to go ahead. The person organising it has no regard for the welfare of the animals in the immediate or surrounding area.

Diane Reed (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#2040

It's about time this archaic nonsense was stopped once and for all.
Too many animals suffer because of " entertainment " the fireworks are simply bombs in a different packaging. Too loud and unnecessary.

Diane Emery (Burton-On-Trent, 2020-10-21)

#2044

I hate fireworks too near animals who are most times petrified of them..My cats quiver and cower when they hear them.If people want these displays they should be away from any animals .

penny Sellars (Sheffield, 2020-10-21)

#2053

I'm signing because I care about livestock and pets who can be severely traumatised by loud fireworks in their vicinity.

David Hanbury (Wigan, 2020-10-21)

#2054

Fireworks should be banned anywhere near Horses dogs and other animal as they can literally be scared to death

Keith Gordon (Hullbridge, 2020-10-21)

#2055

I can't believe how selfish and ignorant people are. When someone can come up with fireworks without the bang displays will be welcome. Until then how dare they be allowed to inflict fear and noise on wildlife and many people who don't enjoy having perforated eardrums.

Veronica Morris (Christchurch, 2020-10-21)

#2061

I loan a pony out to a lovely little girl, he is in the field next door to proposed firework display. He is sensitive, and I know it will stress him ..not to mention the risk of a stray firework burning down his stable.. Covid 19 is spoiling lots of lives, but its temporary. You havent had a display before...so why now? An opportunity to cash in???

Louise Cane Mearns (Weeley, 2020-10-21)

#2064

Clearly this is to close to animals and results in fear among the animals, also how on earth are they going to manage social distancing, this should not be allowed to take place under any circumstances, it isn't appropriate.

Martyn Waller (Chelmsford, 2020-10-21)

#2070

I live in the country and know how it effect all animals. How will social distancing work as the infection rate of Covid climbing .

Joseph Tabor (Sturminster Newton, 2020-10-21)

#2075

the use of fireworks has become a race to see who can have the biggest bangs ! and make the most noise...

For the sake of the animals who will be terrified

Jo Hitchings (Bristol, 2020-10-21)

#2096

Manymold people, wild animals a d household pets get terrified each and every year by fireworks. What a colossal waste of money and how many people's lives are damaged.

Carole Collier (Thetford, 2020-10-21)

#2097

There is a compromise required here which doesn't seem to be addressed, currently.

Richard Flynn (Huntingdon, 2020-10-21)

#2099

This should be cancelled. Those poor animals will be frightened to death.

Maria Kelly (Hyde, 2020-10-21)

#2100

Being an animal lover and having worked in get surgeries, I feel very strongly about the distress caused to animals by fireworks. This is a rural area and as such has many farm animals as well as domestic pets. A lot of animals are terrified by the loud noises and flashes caused by fireworks. People have to realise how much more acute animal's hearing is than our own!

Cath Howliston (Stoke-on-Trent, 2020-10-21)

#2115

My dog is absolutely terrified of fireworks. I have to sedate him. I just don’t think we need them near homes.

Jacki Capper (Harwich, 2020-10-21)

#2117

An event like this should not be held so close to horses and other livestock. This is so dangerous to both the animals and potentially drivers on the adjoining roads if panicking horses escape.

Melanie Westow (Walton on the Naze, 2020-10-21)

#2120

This is something I care about very much - animals and their rights.
Please stop this needless hurt and damage.

Sue Lewis (brighton, 2020-10-21)

#2121

I’m signing because I feel very strongly about fireworks! Most people just don’t care about the effect of fireworks on all kinds of animals...... mainly because they have no first hand experience of the kind of distress fireworks can cause.
There needs to be much more publicity about this.
My daughter has 3 dogs, and lives on an estate where fireworks are let off at any time, on any day, throughout November, and also at other times.....
normally I wouldn’t object to publicised, organised events, but this event appears to be taking place without regard to animal distress.

Linda Gibson (Canterbury, 2020-10-21)

#2127

This event is located inappropriately. Hold it somewhere else

Andrew Moran (Doncaster, 2020-10-21)

#2131

So ridiculous that this is going ahead at this time . Even
More ridiculous to be having so near to where animals are housed .
What is the matter with people , do you simply not care about what you inflict on these poor animals

Helen Young (Corsham, 2020-10-21)

#2132

Animals are absolutely petrified by fireworks. I know this from personal experience with my own pets.

John Lusher (Ashington, 2020-10-21)

#2137

Because my dog is terrified, of the fireworks and they should be banned ,its the 21st October and they are be let off already .

Caryll Mason Was Clark (Edinburgh, 2020-10-21)

#2138

they are too loud they upset my animals

Jules Playfoot (Chatham, 2020-10-21)

#2145

If this is not licenced how is it allowed? and right next to farms and livestock!!!! unbelievable, more than happy to sign hope it's stopped.

Theresaj Maton (Coventry, 2020-10-21)

#2146

Many animals have been distressed and even worse have died from firework displays and it needs to stop.

David Jones (Milton Keynes, 2020-10-21)

#2148

Fireworks cause distress to animals. Therefore it is wrong to let off fireworks in their vicinity.

Pamela Preedy (Redcar, 2020-10-21)

#2150

The effects of fireworks on animals and certain vulnerable people can be devastating

Lynn Hanson (Norfolk, 2020-10-21)

#2152

It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see the devastation caused by fireworks. Animals are dying for human entertainment. Not acceptable.

Michelle Gall (Waterford, 2020-10-21)

#2154

I'm signing because I am aware of the stress and hurt that the noise of fireworks give animals including many humans.

John Ritson (Lewes, 2020-10-21)

#2156

This is absolutely disgusting having this especially so close to stables, pets and people in residential areas nearby. Personally I think fireworks should be banned , especially at this time too when money could be put to better use elsewhere.

heather douglas (Darlington, 2020-10-21)

#2165

I’m signing this because I think fireworks have had their day, they cause harm to the environment and more importantly unnecessary stress to domestic pets and wildlife. It’s time for them to go

Alison Vickers (Doncaster, 2020-10-21)

#2168

I fear for all the animals that will be affected by this

Patricia Palcic (Dunstable, 2020-10-21)

#2169

I'm signing because this is not a licensed event and the potential disruption especially during COVID is unacceptable for residents especially those with animals

Matthew Simmons (Littleborough, 2020-10-21)

#2173

Sick of fireworks not needed anymore

Les Wall (Wigan, 2020-10-21)

#2174

I love all Gods creatures and silent fireworks are now available.
I hour of fun for us can lead to a lifetime of fear for our little friends.

Paul Randall (Ashford, 2020-10-21)

#2176

I have pets of my own and I know how distressed they get at this time of year.

Susan Wood (Ferryhill, 2020-10-21)

#2178

Fireworks are an expensive gimmick and like a lot of things in this country Neanderthals let them off on other days as shops sell them too early they should only be able to buy for 1 day as they scare and frighten animals and babies and probably young children so if we have to have them they should only have organised displays or displays in MPs back gardens they will soon stop them.

Colin Harper (Cambridgeshire, 2020-10-21)

#2179

Fireworks are lethal in the wrong hands and totally unnecessary. There should be more regard for animal welfare and people who are afraid of the noise.

Isobel Henderson (Hartlepool, 2020-10-21)

#2188

Visual fireworks are acceptable but all loud fireworks should be made illegal.

Elizabeth Martindale (Bury, 2020-10-21)

#2194

I see the effects of people letting off fireworks on our dogs. It makes me c6watching one of them sitting panting and drooling hiding in the bathroom and the other one hiding. We were reduced to trying diazepam last year. Dread the weeks before and after bonfire night!!,

Jan Maxwell (Kirkcaldy, 2020-10-21)

#2197

I am concerned about the welfare of all animals and expect my government to share my concerns. I know, first-hand, the effect fireworks have on animals and how their irresponsible use can impact on communities as well as animals. It is time there is a national strategy to alleviate the blight of this nuisance.

Joseph Murgatroyd (Keighley, 2020-10-21)

#2199

Bangs, flashes of light and disturbance cause distress to wild, domestic and farm animals and birds. We don't need to celebrate with fireworks.
