Having travelled to O'Reilly's I believe greater access to the area would promote better employment and access opportunities for all

Too many trails are being shut down, if you leave some open, the 4wd community actually keep the trail open for emergency vehicles. Apart from that, it's history, its scenic and it supports the small communities.

When I lived on the Mountain years ago, the main road was closed by fire. This was the only access I had to my house. It's a valuable recourse!!!! It's also a quick way into Beaudesert for the locals. I hope to use it again one day soon!

I used to travel this road on weekends as a leisurely drive, also because my great great grandfather had a piece of land purchased off duck creek road in order to raise funds to help maintain the road
We as kids used to mow and maintain this spot regularly for use for public picnics

This is a road that all people should be able to drive and experience

Duck Creek Road is a great track and should be preserved and maintained for future visitors.

I'm signing because the thousands of visitors to Lamington National Park need to have a second road to access, in case of emergency (eg bushfires lower down, closing the existing road). Also to highlight the scenic beauty of the Kerry Valley, and giving tourists the opportunity to enjoy facilities in Beaudesert.
It would also open up opportunities for employment for local residents, with a quicker route to O'Reilly's.

I'm signing because we visit O'Reillys frequently & it is important for safety to have another route down the mountain in the event of bushfires, or any other weather conditions eg torrential rain that cause damage eg landslides to the current access road.

I have had many fabulous trips down Duck Creek Road by car and bicycle over the years, it is important to keep it open, and also needed as a backup when Lamington National Park Road is closed.

My dad Rob Fechner was the builder of the road along with his brothers and others. He has passed and would be horrified to think it closed. I have so many memories of travelling up and down that track along with the beautiful views of the Kerry valley it attracts people to the area and also up to O’reillys. Please put some money towards this wonderful idea. Thank you. 🙏

I'm signing because reopening this road helps local people and significantly cuts journey times, thus reducing emissions harmful to this beautiful region.

It’s a beautiful way to travel and enjoy the national park, I haven’t been since the road closed.

I have used Duck Creek road twice.
Firstly when the road was accessible by a two wheel drive car with good ground clearance and secondary in a 4x4 when the road was unknowingly heavily rutted.
It makes Orielys and Lamington National Park more accessible, reducing travel time.

This access road is important for residents, tourists and visitors alike. It will add to the resilience of the community and contribute in many ways to the economy.

I remember driving this scenic road many years ago and find it a better route to O'Reilly's and shorter.

O'Reillys is a place of great significance to me, it is the place I chose to be married and a place I love to visit to experience nature. I think it is vitally important for the residents, staff and guests who are at the top of the mountain to have a secondary means of escape should there be a bushfire threat.
Also the added benefit of tourism through 4x4 families visiting the region etc and giving those Scenic Rim residents a shorter drive up the hill, taking away some of the excess traffic from the Canungra road.
