Petition against Pre-Primary school operation in residential area without proper zoning

We, the undersigned residents and concerned members of the community in Dormehlsdrift, George, vehemently express our concerns and opposition regarding the establishment of a Pre-Primary school in our residential area at 5 and 7 Marthinus Street, Dormehlsdrift, George.

It has come to our attention that this institution is operating without the requisite business rights or proper rezoning, which is both a violation of local regulations and a significant detriment to our neighborhood's character and safety.

Our primary concerns regarding the Pre-primary school's operation in a residential zone without proper authorization are as follows:

1. Zoning Violation: The residential zone is designated for housing and community living, and the operation of a pre-primary school is inconsistent with the zoning regulations. This raises significant questions about the legality and appropriateness of such an establishment in our neighborhood.

2. Safety Hazards: Increased traffic and congestion caused by the influx of parents dropping off and picking up children pose a significant safety risk to our community. The narrow residential streets and no parking space were not designed to accommodate the volume of traffic generated by a school.

3. Noise Disturbance: The operation of a pre-primary school inevitably brings noise, such as children playing and the comings and goings of parents and staff, which disrupts the peaceful atmosphere of our residential area. This negatively impacts the quality of life for residents.

4. Property Values: The presence of a school in a residential area could potentially lower property values for homeowners in the vicinity. This has financial implications for residents who have invested in their homes with the expectation of living in a quiet, residential neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the appropriate authorities investigate and take the necessary action to address these concerns, including ensuring that the pre-primary school either complies with the proper zoning regulations or relocates to a more suitable location.
