HELLO PEOPLE - dont be led up the garden path!!!  This petition is based on a false premise set up by minority interest groups.  Before signing it please go to Nonsuchabbeyfield.org and see what two charities and a community sports organisation are ACTUALLY proposing as the best future for this land.  Their proposals REALLY sale the fields from developers.

Agree. The campaign has distorted the truth. The parties involved area LOCAL voluntary sports club and charity.

The real deal

No false premise, and 'all that glitters is ...'!  Two local schools - one also a registerd charity, and two local sports clubs previously playing a broad range of sports can hardly be descibed as minority interest groups. The charity being established - Ewell Sports & Leisure, are proposing a REAL alternative that doesn't require any building on the Strategic Open Space, nor increase in vehicle traffic nor ...!  Why should we be threatened in such a way with apparent riches?  We don't need a 'shiny' new pavilion and all the roadways and hard standing taking up grass areas. There are other sites to develop a care facility and ES&L also plan an artificial pitch.  (ps. E&E HS are also establishing more artificial pitches for the community.)  Be strong and protect our village, our environment.

Who's getting the backhander?

Oh, and why did the local councillor for this ward not stand up for his residents to back opposition to this massive and unnecessary nursing home development on a greenfield space?  Surprise surprise, because he's married to an employee of the developer!  The whole thing stinks and local residents are well aware of the background and the politics thank you.  Don't ruin a beautiful village, and take away a 'lung' of breathing space from its heart, when a nursing home could be built on a brownfield site elsewhere in this or a neighbouring borough.  The council's own planning guidelines restricting building on green spaces have been conveniently altered in order to 'grease' this development through. It is a disgrace.
