It will make things very inconvenient for me. It's my only form of transport

Darren Gosling (Palmerston North, 2023-12-14)

Because I am not happy about the change I depend on the bus .

For our elderly who need to go and do there errands .
For our children whom bus to school .
For Joe blog who may go on random bus rides .

I have limited mobility and rely on buses. Rangiora Avenue has aged care city council flats and many disabled people living there. Most of this avenue is aged people who would be unable to walk 1-2 kms to catch another bus. There was no discussion with the community, I have a disability but I also work full time and pay rates, hence I’m already paying towards buses.

Really, it is gobsmaking that they would reduce services to any neighborhoods for what is essentially a vanity project for this council. What happened to responsible money management?
Electrifying all routes at once is a thoughtless and excessive fiscal burden for rates payers given that so many are struggling to make ends meet. It will also leave several unused non-electric busses in the yard with which to expand current services such as Ashurst and surrounds. Only replace these with electric as they expire.

I live on Vogel Street, near the Rangiora Ave intersection. The route-change will mean having to either walk quite a distance to Featherston St, or down the hill and crossing Main St, which is dangerous. I am well into my 70's and do not drive.

I am signing because of the changed will effect both myself and my childern getting to and from school. They are also changing the price of the fares

Renata Tombleson (Palmerston North, 2023-12-15)

I have friends that are elderly and also disabled and you are taking away the only trasport they have.

Sandra Carroll (All, 2023-12-18)

the bus routes need to stay as they will damage many lives if not there anymore.

This is ridiculous!! Taking more stops out!! You should be adding more and making people want to use public transport!!! Grrrr

Amanda Hansen (Palmerston North, 2024-01-08)

The new bus route and plan has not been designed with users in mind. It is going to cut off entire communities! As someone with chronic pain conditions I will not be able to use the bus service in this town anymore as I cannot walk to the closest bus stop, and I am not alone; you are cutting off people with disabilities, the elderly, from living our lives. This will devastate our city.

Victoria Beckett (Palmerston North, 2024-01-08)

#49

I know quite a few elderly that'll essentially be left without transport due to the new routes.

Because it is unfair that the poorer areas do not have that stability anymore, that it won't be easy for anyone who is struggling and making it hard for students who have early classes. Not only that, but it doesn't decrease car usage, the way they have planned this is poor and will increase car usage

Elizabeth Moisson (Palmerston North, 2024-01-08)

The current bus system is working fine

Matt Wallace (Palmerston North, 2024-01-08)

#65

I'm signing, because I'm concerned about the impact that these proposed route changes could have on the old and/or disabled.

Frank Boulton (Palmerston North, 2024-01-09)

The changes don't make sense!

Anne Jeffrey (Palmerston North, 2024-01-09)

I rely on the Cloverlea/ Milson bus route for health visits to Doctor, Optician, Diabetes centre and for supermarket shopping all on Broadway. All Broadway stops being removed.

Anne Lascelles (Palmerston North, 2024-01-20)

#100

I'm signing because the people living in Awapuni who use the current buses, do NOT have the ability to walk the extra Kilometers required to find the new bus stops

Linda Haddon (Palmerston North, 2024-01-20)

#102

Bus stop is closer to where I live it's handy to where I need to be

Mary Morrison (Palmerston north, 2024-01-24)

This bus route of Rangiora Ave & Broadway Ave must be retained.
We have not had a fair go here
Please listen to us.

Martin Skinner (Palmerston North, 2024-01-28)

#108

Alot of vulnerable low income people who rely on busses live in the streets you are removing busses from.

Chris Hocken (Feilding, 2024-01-28)

#110

Need to leave ALL BUS ROUTES THE SAME. Everyone should have access to the bus service regardless where they live.

Leanne Fletcher (Palmerston North, 2024-01-28)

#112

Councils don't care about poor people who can't afford cars and don't pay rates, still have to pay rents that are unbelievably expensive, don't mess with routes that are fine as they are

Marika Linnewever-Witton (Palmerston North, 2024-01-28)

I have arthritis it's going to be impossible to go out when I have a flare up with no bus stop close by also going to be harder to get my kids to the school

Laura Richardson (Palmerston North, 2024-01-29)

#119

I am signing this petition because the Bus Routes will be adversely affected for people in my area (Roslyn) & other suburbs of Palmerston North.

Andrew Phillips (Palmerston North, 2024-01-29)

#122

We have people in our area (Highbury) who could end up being house bound because they may not be able to walk to the nearest bus stop. For petes sake - cater for people who "have" to use the public transport service and not those who "choose" to. Not everyone is young and fit.

Te Muri Tatere-Beamsley (Palmerston North, 2024-01-30)

#123

I'm signing because I'm absolutely disgusted that in a town that is supposed to be more eco friendly therefore encourages the use of public transport, you have taken away bus stops that allow our elderly and special needs people to have access to buses. I'd also like to add I don't like getting rid of something that is working to replace with an eco option. In time, sure phase to new electric buses as the old ones buses need replacing. We need the bus route to be able to use the buses for my special needs son and myself.

Louisa Hardiment-Moss (Palmerston North, 2024-01-30)

#126

I do not support the bus routes being taken out of the suburbs

Pam Innes (Palmerston north, 2024-02-01)
