Whilst I support the developers need for site security, these fences are currently unnecessary and are both a hazard and an unwelcome obstruction to residents of this town who have previously enjoyed and cared for the environment affected in this case.

The fencing has no purpose and looks awful they are being vandalised and are a danger to people and animals.

(Gosport, 2018-06-14)

#8

As a tax payer why should i be paying for unnecessary maintenance & costs on fencing that does not need to be there

(GOSPORT, 2018-06-14)

#9

It should be left to nature

(Gosport, 2018-06-14)

#13

I want full use of the area until building works begin.

(Gosport, 2018-06-14)

#15

Unnessecery at this moment in time and is becoming an blight on the landscape in a beautiful part of the coast.

(Gosport, 2018-06-14)

#25

We are being denied access to publicly owned land for no reason - in fact the fences are causing danger to persons and restricting wild life

(gosport, 2018-06-15)

#29

I have been utterly disgusted that this fencing has been placed along the gilkicker coast line. The beauty of the wild ground has been completely ruined not to mention the bird nesting sites that have gone. Why was all this necessary, why did Gosport council allow it. The whole thing saddens me.

(Fareham, 2018-06-15)

#30

It is insightly and serves no real purpose

(Gosport, 2018-06-15)

#33

a whole site is a total act of legal vandalism, against what was a wonderful beauty spot planners hang your heads in shame for letting the carpetbaggers get in

(Gosport, 2018-06-15)

#35

I grew up here and used to go on family walks down here . It has been blocked off and is harming the nature . Gosport should not be spending all their money on these houses . There are many other things they could spend their money one . For example, housing for the homeless

(Gosport, 2018-06-15)

#38

The fence is a eye sore because of the location it is in.

(Gosport, 2018-06-16)

#39

I am a former gosport resident and I am concerned at the lack of progress, imposition of restrictive public access and I am not convinced Gosport Borough Council have a firm grip in their policing of this important development.

(Portsmouth, 2018-06-18)

#44

There is no indication of how long it will be before work starts so closing off so much of the area is unnecessary.

(Gosport, 2018-06-19)

#45

We’ve had access for many, many years and whilst I don’t want the fort to continue rotting away, I don’t feel it should change the Right of Way. I’m disabled and use an electric scooter and have been prevented from going to the beach there with out dogs due to the fencing. I want to ensure we keep our right of way for our grandchildren.

(Gosport, 2018-06-19)

#47

I’m signing because there has been no activity on the site for some time and no date from the developer as to when building might commence - if ever. The fencing is therefore superfluous, an eyesore and an unnecessary restriction of the amenity that the site would otherwise provide.

(Gosport, 2018-06-19)

#48

The fencing is an eyesore and is often left in a perilous condition. As there is no building work being undertaken the fencing is pointless

#51

I think the current fencing is excessive and can be reinstated as and when necessary if building ever statrs

(Gosport, 2018-06-20)

#52

Developers continue to encroach on publicly owned land with complete impunity, it's time it stopped.

(gosort, 2018-06-23)

#54

Walked here over forty years.

(Gosport, 2018-06-24)

#61

Im.a dog.walker and would like free access to gillicker

(Gosport, 2018-07-08)

#64

There is no reason for it, just to stop people using the land, it's not private property

(Gosport, 2018-07-08)

#66

Its an eyesore for people of Gosport in one their most beautiful areas, the land around the fort is owned by the public, not the developers.

(GOSPORT, 2018-07-08)

#67

I walk my dog down there weekly and the fencing being vandalised is a danger to children and animals, and as there is a hold on the development there is currently no need for the fence to remain.

(GOSPORT, 2018-07-08)

#72

It's an eyesore and a potential safety hazard.

(Gosport, 2018-07-09)

#78

The developer is not doing anything to the site in the way of building or preparation for. The fencing is forever having to be repaired and as has been stated the wildlife is returning. The fencing should be reduced to the amount to secure the fort.

(Gosport, 2018-07-21)

#79

This is an eyesore; let's get rid of it.

(Gosport, 2018-07-22)

#81

It seems apparent that nothing is happenningat Fort Gilkicker. The fencing is just an eyesore and no longer provides any security due to its poor condition.

(Gosport, 2018-07-26)

#89

Gilkicker is a Gosport heritage site. It has been vandalised by a lack of security and, many artifacts have, apparently gone missing.

(Alverstoke, 2018-07-27)

#98

The development has stalled, the fencing and barriers must come down. Gosport is for all of us.

(Johannesburg, 2018-07-30)

#100

Gosport Tory run Council has let us down again. Please people rally around and gee up our councillors to get this Gilkicker mess sorted out

(Gosport, 2018-08-01)

#103

Build or don’t . But don’t leave it on that mess

(Gosport, 2018-08-01)

#104

I grew up in Gosport, I grew up learning about birds and wildlife there when walking with my dad. I now walk there with my own children and dog. The fencing around the fort needs to be removed and the area returned to its former condition in the absence of any work being done there.

(Shanklin, 2018-08-01)

#105

It is a disgrace and a blog on the landscape

(Isle of wight, 2018-08-01)

#115

I walk there every day and the appearance of this sprawling, cordoned-off site has ruined the previously natural unspoiled coastline.

(Gosport, 2018-08-02)

#121

I'm signing because I am a local resident and find the current state of the fencing and works is very detrimental to the area

(Gosport, 2018-08-03)

#123

The land around Fort Gillkicker has been used by residents of Gosport for exercise, dog walking and leisure for as long as I can remember. I came to Gosort in 1964.

(Gosport, 2018-08-05)

#124

I agree with the content of the petition and would like petition to be taken seriously and the work carried out.

(Hampshire, 2018-08-06)

#126

because I agree with the above statement.

(Gosport, 2018-08-09)

#127

It was such a beautiful area and has now become unsightly. It use't to be a pleasurable place to walk and be able to sit and relax away from the crowds - but now it is an eye sore!

(Gosport, 2018-08-13)

#128

I think it's become a shambles and the gosport council has allowed themselves to be duped by big money people once again.

(Gosport, 2018-08-20)

#129

Recent announcement that building works are o. Hole. Please remove fencing and dispose of the shrub that the developers have torn up

(Gosport, 2018-08-21)
