The electricity price per unit has increased by more than double the inflation rate which alone is hideous. The average consumer cannot afford the additional R200 on top of unit price hike.Luke Waspe (Johannesburg, 2024-07-03)

I’m signing because I think this is not fair to consumers, why should there be a service fee added? Electricity is overcharged as it is. It is inhumane and unacceptable.Halima Cowan (Johannesburg, 2024-07-03)

The cost of living is so high. The fact that only 6 parties signed off, to me, is not a majority. Furthermore, we were nit given enough notice for this change. But most of all, it is really unfair to bring this about all of a sudden. We chose prepaid so we can monitor how much we use. We barely make ot thru the month with the electricity and now with this unnecessary charge, we get fewer units and now have to look at alternatives to replace the electricity. This is bringing the country Further down.Fyona Khan (Roodepoort, 2024-07-03)

I find the R200 monthly fee service, irrational and I'm of the opinion thatCity power leadership lacks the human decency in them to know and acknowledge social and economic challenges we are facing as the citizens.
Further more the reality on the ground is that the majority of the working class are swimming in a pool of Debts.

Me and my wife are pensioners struggling to survive and this electricity tax is a total rip-off and overreach by the people who feel they have freedom to implement these draconian fees at will. It must be scrapped. There's no need for a referendum to decide on the matter. Just scrap it. I refuse to pay for it. Other than that, City Power can come remove their prepaid meter entirely.Eone Crotz (Roodepoort, 2024-07-03)

Gatvol of municipality poor service and corruption where paying customers have to pay more and more because of incompetence, corruption and illegal connections and what more!We are all suffering. We cannot afford to pay these extra amounts, if we fail to pay, we get cut off. Yet people that connect illegally and bypass meters will always have power even during loadshedding and load reduction.
The only people that suffers is the paying customers!
Ons is gatvol verby!
