I’m worried for the animals

Margaret Cunningham (Glasgow, 2020-10-22)

#4210

I wish to protect all animals including my own cat, King Harold of Hoddesdon, from the crashes and bangs of fireworks.

Simon George Spratt (Hoddesdon, 2020-10-22)

#4211

Fireworks require to be set off in a controlled, sensible and safe environment where animals are not being scared out of their wits and injured.

George Johnston (EDINBURGH, 2020-10-22)

#4212

This proposed event is totally unnecessary and at the moment with the virus, so wrong. Anyone who cares about animals would understand the terror they experience when fireworks are let off within a large radius of their homes. It is so selfish..

Valerie Adamson (Colchester, 2020-10-22)

#4215

The welfare of animals is important. My dog was terrified of fireworks. I know first hand the impact of them on animals.

Najimee Parveen (Glasgow, 2020-10-22)

#4218

Noisy fireworks terrify animals.

Shelagh Scott (Newcastle upon Tyne, 2020-10-22)

#4224

Animals are terrified of firework noise.

Stan Pougher (Hull, 2020-10-22)

#4225

Fireworks are explosives and can terrify pets, local wildlife and even the elderly!

Annie Field (Tamworth, 2020-10-22)

#4226

I hate the thought of any animals being afraid.

kay patterson (birmingham, 2020-10-22)

#4227

I’ve live stock, hay barn and terrified dogs. Every year selfish organisations don’t even think of the stress it causes to local animals or owners

Jo Selt (Harwich, 2020-10-22)

#4230

It is disgraceful to ignore the impact it will have on the animals and all the paraphernalia that goes with it....

Kerry Bartell (St Agnes, 2020-10-22)

#4238

You are to near to stables and wildlife

Melinda Harrison (Colchester, 2020-10-22)

#4239

i want a precedent set so we stop it around here!

john pering (hemel, 2020-10-22)

#4247

Venue seems totally inappropriate

Jan Williams (Crawley, 2020-10-22)

#4249

fireworks should be banned except for public
safety regulated displays on 5th November &
no other day, those who disobey to be fined .

TERESA KEEGAN (Amlwch, 2020-10-22)

#4251

I agree entirely with the concerns made in the petition letter.

Chris Kinsey (Wakefield, 2020-10-22)

#4252

I have seen too many animals hurt/distressed by fireworks. Also have seen the horrific aftermath of farm buildings destroyed by stray sparks.

Diane Clayton (Oldham, 2020-10-22)

#4254

It is getting worse every year. No need to be selling them early as it is just asking for trouble. The number of animals suffering due to fireworks is huge. Stop selling them now.

Jean Campbell (Glasgow, 2020-10-22)

#4259

I care.

Sarah Dudson (Braintree, 2020-10-22)

#4264

Fireworks are unnecessary, dangerous and cause a lot of distress to animals.

Julie Pearce (Walkern, 2020-10-22)

#4265

Fireworks are an absolute menace to any animal and often people too.

Karen Haywood (Chesterfield, 2020-10-22)

#4268

We are the Caretakers NOT the Carebreakers. The Animals don't need this display anywhere near them.

Susan Kang (Lee Green, 2020-10-22)

#4269

The care for animals is important- fireworks displays need to take this into consideration and use silent fireworks.

Nigel Parry (Braintree, 2020-10-22)

#4271

I care more about the wellfair of animals
and people who are stressed around fireworks than I do about people being “entertained “

Barbara Cadbury (Cheltenham, 2020-10-22)

#4275

I have animals and know how badly fireworks affect them.

Susan Christian (Oswestry, 2020-10-22)

#4277

Animal crulty

Rob Peachey (Peterborough, 2020-10-22)

#4279

Fireworks are great as a colourful spectacle, but don't need to be so loud to be appreciated. Rockets used to just go whoosh.

Mark Sopher (BRENTWOOD, 2020-10-22)

#4282

The poor animals are scared senseless. Fireworks should only be permitted one night a year. These people are holding two huge events. Animals have also been seriously burned from them.

Catherine Fanning (Surrey, 2020-10-22)

#4284

This is ridiculous, the area is right next to livestock. I thought there was now legal protection in place to stop this happening. Animals die every year. Please please stop this happening.

Clair Parkinson (Colchester, 2020-10-22)

#4285

Its against the law for a start to set off fireworks near livestock !!! Apart from the fact its just cruel.

sharon mawdsley (liverpool, 2020-10-22)

#4289

Fireworks are dangerous and frighten animals tremendously.

Michelle Taylor (Thorpe le soken, 2020-10-22)

#4292

Apart from the crass choice of location for this, surely under Covid 19 restrictions it is illegal.

Jane Prentice (Kettering, 2020-10-22)

#4295

I am not in favour of fireworks being set off, where they may affect animals (and even humans!).

Patricia Anning (RUGBY, 2020-10-22)

#4298

Animal welfare simple

Jess Oliver (London, 2020-10-22)

#4302

I am no fan of fireworks since a childhood accident left me with a painful scar on my head. Animals are sensitive and like me, just don't like a lot of noise.

Jennifer Beattie (Glasgow, 2020-10-22)

#4303

I don't want animals and vulnerable people to be terrified by the sight or the sound, or both, of fireworks.

Maeve Wright (Nottingham, 2020-10-22)

#4304

There is no need for this event to be held, the well being of livestock should come first.

David Jones (Lichfield, 2020-10-22)

#4305

animals get scared of fireworks they have a right to feel safe

Heather johnson (Wirral, 2020-10-22)

#4307

I'm signing because fireworks are very dangerous and disturbing. Their explosions badly frighten animals and wildlife. They have been known to cause disastrous fires. They create large clouds of highly toxic pollution that blankets the surrounding area. They are a reckless nonsensical hazard that should be banned.

Brewster Pack (Dawson Creek, 2020-10-22)

#4308

The distress this causes is unacceptable

Sadie Andrews (Birmingham, 2020-10-22)

#4310

The distress this brings to animals whether wild or pets is phenomenal and distressing to see. I think this is one of our traditions that should be discontinued not because it is not PC but because it is senseless and unnecessary.

Rita Peat (Leigh on Sea, 2020-10-22)

#4312

This is an animal welfare issue. Cruelty is not an option.

Dudley Simms (Newmarket, 2020-10-22)

#4314

Although I love fireworks I think they should be controlled - the disturbance they create for months over the autumn and winter are intolerable.

Deborah Cresswell (Birmingham, 2020-10-22)

#4317

There should be more consideration for the welfare of the animals, most people can’t stand the noise let alone the wildlife and farm animalss

Carol Brown (Stourbridge, 2020-10-22)

#4320

Fields alongside livestock should not be used for fireworks. Where can they go if they are scared?

Kate Dingley (Christchurch, 2020-10-22)

#4321

Fireworks have got out of hand. They start in October and carry on well into the New Year. Personally I find them a massive waste of money but if we must have them at least have them where they do no harm to people or animals.

Sue Milner (Shoreham by Sea., 2020-10-22)

#4323

The noise and distress this event will cause to livestock is complete unnecessary. The location should be changed.

Alison Coombes (Bradwell on Sea, 2020-10-22)

#4324

I Have several rescue animals, all of them become traumatised by loud bomb like fireworks.
In Stafford fire works have been let off on our estate already.
Modern fireworks for public use are so loud and devastating. Why do some people Wish to create a war zone sound effects for fun is beyond me.

Andrew Fowlie (Stafford, 2020-10-22)

#4325

As an animal lover and pet owner I know the possible distress that is caused by fireworks. A large display with lots of noise and bangs anywhere near animals is cruelty in the extreme.

Sheena Woodcraft (Milton Keynes, 2020-10-22)

#4331

It's about time the people of this country (and the world) started to consider all animals.

Christina Evans (Bedfordshire, 2020-10-22)

#4334

I don't think that animals should be frightened just for the childish amusement of a load of selfish people!

Bernard Dent (Seaford, 2020-10-22)

#4335

It’s about time people started to think about how fireworks affect some people and animals. It’s really an outdated practice and should only be allowed for displays. Choosing a suitable venue should be paramount, considering how it will affect those in the vicinity.

Lou Bennett (Bristol, 2020-10-22)

#4339

Animal welfare should be priority why cant we do as other countries have done silent fireworks

Karen Maskell (Lingfield, 2020-10-22)

#4341

There are now too many idiots spoiling it for the sensible.

Grace Lawrence (NEWTON ABBOT, 2020-10-22)

#4343

it's the right thing to do [ the shock it causes is unreal ]

terry craddock (durham, 2020-10-22)

#4344

Public responsibility for animal welfare.

Mark Coleman (Wallingford, 2020-10-22)

#4346

fireworks are mini bombs in the hands of the general public and should only be let off by responsible licenced organisations in areas where no animals will be affected by the noise or crowds they attract

beatrice simon (Dumfries, 2020-10-22)

#4347

I hate to think of animals suffering they should find an alternate sight away from farms. But even then nobody ever thinks of the roosting bird life in the trees they must be scared out of their witts every bonfire night and New Years Eve.

Evelyn Skidmore (ST. HELENS, 2020-10-22)

#4349

I care about animals and fireworks as so distressing for them.

Lisa Gray (Aberdeenshire, 2020-10-22)

#4352

I strongly believe that fireworks cause considerable distress and organisers of firework displays need to think carefully about location of the display and it's impact.

Patricia Holmes (Wakefield, 2020-10-22)

#4353

It is totally unacceptable to terrify animals in this way.

Wendy Broughton (Barnetby-le-Wold, 2020-10-22)

#4356

It is totally unacceptable, selfish and inconsiderate to cause unnecessary distress and disturbance to livestock, horses, domestic pets and elderly residents who happen to be in close proximity to the proposed site of the fireworks event.

Martin Pedlow (Hove, 2020-10-22)

#4357

Potentially awful though this is, it's just one of many around the UK. This is a purely commercial venture for making money, not a community or charity event, and tickets are £28.99. Covid safety measures seem to be just asking everyone to stay socially distant.

Hilary Gordon (Newcastle upon Tyne, 2020-10-22)

#4358

i care about animals

janet heath (widnes, 2020-10-22)

#4359

The damage fireworks do to animals pets people and the environment

Sandra Harrison (Stanford Le Hope, 2020-10-22)

#4360

There is far too little thought for the community surrounding fireworks displays. Fireworks are made to be noisier and noisier and organisers don't seem to care about the stress this causes many people and animals. Small 'guerilla' fireworks use is even worse. This is a serious problem that need addressing by local councils and government.

Neil McDonald (London, 2020-10-22)

#4363

Fireworks set off anxiety in my dog!

Martin Geraghty (Bristol, 2020-10-22)

#4365

I do support

Andrew Chamberlain (Gwent, 2020-10-22)

#4366

I am fed up with aninals being terrorised.

Christine Pender (Cardiff, 2020-10-22)

#4371

i too have animals endangered unnecessarily by a pointless celebration of something that didn't happen!

Paul Hunting (Moreton-in-Marsh, 2020-10-22)

#4372

This is the most ridiculous and stupid idea.
I cannot believe anyone actually thought of it, let alone
organised it!
How on earth is socially distancing to be arranged anyway?

linda le cocq (Jersey, 2020-10-22)

#4373

Worried about the risk to animals, also it’s crazy to have an event to attract a crowd in the middle of the pandemic.

Margaret Slack (Derby, 2020-10-22)

#4374

I am concerned for animsl welfare

Angela Connor (Woodgreen, 2020-10-22)

#4379

Fireworks are a total waste of money and cause huge distress to many animals and also some humans.

Angus Macfarlane (London, 2020-10-22)

#4384

This is obviously not the right place for a fireworks extravaganza.

Erica Zarbal (Merseyside, 2020-10-22)

#4386

I am signing because fireworks terrify my dog.

Terence Clark (London, 2020-10-22)

#4387

Fireworks are great fun if you want them, but more care needs to be taken in the location of big displays. Animals and vulnerable people suffer greatly from fireworks too close to them.

Wendy Davis (Mansfield, 2020-10-22)

#4389

I know firsthand about the terror fireworks induce in both people and animals. Silent fireworks would be a much better alternative

Jacqueline Hewison (London, 2020-10-22)

#4392

This is totally inconsiderate

Teresa Taylor (London, 2020-10-22)

#4393

Fully support the motives of this petition. These displays have no place in today's age.

Rob Knight (Colchester, Essex, 2020-10-22)

#4399

Fireworks cause so much stress to animals! So unnecessary.

Debbie Ketley (Crewe, 2020-10-22)
