Make Backstage Dog Friendly!

It costs so much to have dog sitters and especially as an off stage swing it would be no issue to have the dog with me and would make me happy!

I’m signing on behalf of all the performers who already have a stressful enough schedule. they shouldn’t have to have the added stress of trying to find someone to look after their dog. plus, fans at stage door love seeing the dogs!

I have a dog and work in the entertainment industry. My dog brings endless joy to others at our busy and stressful rehearsal spaces and working environments.

Seems rather a harsh and ill considered decision to impose suddenly when some shows have accommodated cast & crew doggies where they are calm, trained and not causing any issues.
The cost of doggie care even if it is available is considerable and for some it will be simply not available at any price at the days & times worked.

Cause as a performer not only do I think it’s great to be able to bring your animal friends in but the joy it brings to the building on a rough day is essential to the community being created back stage

Baffling decision! Zero problems in 3 years

As a dog owner I know the stresses of finding dog care when you are working and also the financial implications of that care. In an industry where most people are forced to take second jobs to stay afloat, it’s even more important to take your well-behaved dog to work. As long as there are no issues or damage caused, I see no reason why dogs should not be allowed in the theatre and urge the management to reconsider their decision.

I have a dog and I’m also a performer. Finding dog care is so difficult on a performers schedule and also EXPENSIVE

I’m signing because a lot of people in this industry have and rely on their dogs for mental support! If they can’t come into work with us it’s unlikely we’d be able to keep them full stop.

The theatre I work at allows dogs. I don’t own one myself but the few people that do find bringing their dogs to work a huge relief as they can not find dog sitters/friends/family to look after their pets for various reasons. It’s a huge help and boosts morale for the company!

I’m signing because I’ve worked in theatre and the Westend for 10 years now and there have only been a couple theatres that have allowed dogs, which made it so much easier and everyone in the theatre loved having him there.

This petition raises an important issue. Theatre work is difficult enough. A small thing to allow a dog to stay in a dressing room, but a huge difference to the dog owner.

Dogs should be allowed anywhere if its safe for them x

I’m signing because as a dog owner it’s sometimes tricky and expensive to get dog care when schedules get particularly busy or just general double show days! Especially as my dog is small and very well trained.

Dogs bring such a better atmosphere to the theatres, especially on long working weeks. It’s better for both the dogs & the staff

Dogs improve mood and relieve anxiety for lots of people. Providing they are well behaved they cause no issues to the theatre or show.
