I am signing because it is outrageous to expect citizens to pay such extreme amounts to compensate for the mismanagement and corruption of entities over years. With no evidence that things will improve or change.
These additional charges are unwarranted and unfair and will further serve to cripple household and hence the economy at large.

I'm struggling to cover my current electricity costs, and any increase will only worsen my financial situation. It's concerning that the middle class seems to bear the burden while other communities evade their electricity bills. The government's failure to address this issue is unjust and unfair, leaving us to pay for their careless mistakes.

Thembile Gumbi (Potchefstroom, 2024-07-04)

We are tired and frustrated about paying exorbitant rates and fees for electricity and such. With that being said, we don't get proper service. Our streets are dirty and the street lights don't work. They open the roads where there are leaks and don't fix the leaks or roads properly. There is, for example, this waterleak in Montgomery Park in the main road; they opened it to fix(?) but it still has not done done. There is this huge hole, or rather, opening a car could fall into, at the side of the road with a little barricade in front of it! We have had enough of incompetence, and we have to pay for it!

Claudina Buys (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

We are like rabid dogs in their eyes 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
