This Advantage Plain Is not accepted by my Doctor . Also this plane is not what I signed up for.

mario iasparo (centereach, 2022-03-14)

Retirees worked very hard for many years and deserve to have the medical care we were promised. I taught for 34 years and earned less than I deserved knowing that I would be provided for when I retired.

Rochelle Siegel (Boynton Beach, 2022-03-14)

#2405

Health care was promised to us and we paid into it for many years. To ask seniors to have to change doctors, get pre authorization, & or pay more is unconscionable!

Rose Marie Lavergata (Covington Township, 2022-03-14)

#2408

I am signing because I believe that any plan designed to replace Medicare MUST include all benefits that Medicare provides whithout adding any restrictions or prequalifications for medical services and should provide add value and services.

Steven Cohen (W HEMPSTEAD, 2022-03-14)

#2411

I am totally opposed to the Advantage Plan as I want my present health insurance to remain in effect.

Catherine Scullin (Bayside, 2022-03-14)

#2413

I do want my health care coverage to change.

Thomas Melville (Staten Island, 2022-03-14)

#2414

I want to keep my Medicare benefits and supplemental health plan as is.

Carolyn Hornik (Oceanside, 2022-03-14)

#2415

Because I want to keep the health benefits I was given at the time of retirement.

Juanita Galloway (South Ozone Park, 2022-03-14)

#2417

I am signing bc it is unconstitutional to charge the New York City retirees for health benefits.

Deena Horn (New York City, 2022-03-14)

#2419

I want my voice to be heard to leave our healthcare alone. Do not change it!

Gregg Mireau (Milford, 2022-03-14)

#2421

Good affordable healthcare was promised as a retiree benefit, and Medicare advantage plans aren’t good.

Betty Duggan (NYC, 2022-03-14)

#2424

I am a city retiree with a limited income, health issues, etc. Why would you appeal this? Speak to the leaders of this group. Hear them out. You are being unfair, by blindly backing something your predecessor tried to push through, EXACTLY what you said you'd be against, when campaigning. Stand by your word. At the very least, listen. Drop this appeal, you are hurting the most vulnerable in society.

Mary Nevins (Saugerties, 2022-03-14)

#2426

I spent years working for a lower salary taking care of the sick, downtrodden and neglected humanity often working 12-14 hrs without a break. We were promised by the city health care benefits upon retirement that would make up for the grueling, always short-staffed, working conditions imposed upon us. Now the city is breaking that promise.

Irene Jordan (NYC, 2022-03-14)

#2427

I don't think we should have a health care plan forced upon us. We were promised our current healthcare for life. It shouldn't be taken from us at this stage of our lives.

Kathleen Ferran (New York, 2022-03-14)

#2430

To keep the same medicare plan I have!

Janine Farrell (New York, 2022-03-14)

#2432

we should NOT be asked to change our plan and there are NO DOCTORS in this new plan that service us

bernard and rita levine (palm beach gardensboard of education, 2022-03-14)

#2433

The proposed Medicare Advantage proposal must not penalize us. I carefully mapped out my retirement plan. We had an agreement that I trusted to be honest. Changing is unconscionable. This further eroding of faith in our government is terrifying. Where does it stop? Does it stop? I can see the City offering other options - but penalizing those that don't wish to choose not to accept the offer is simply wrong.
Please, Mayor Adams, publicly stand with hard working people who want to trust their government.
Please do not appeal the judges decision to allow our benefits to remain as promised.
What would be very worth the City's time and money would be to fight insurance companies and middle entities from making medical expenses a reason people go under.

Rose Murphy (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2434

Privatizing our health care is not an option and we shouldn’t have to pay for something else that the city promised to pay for in contracts many years ago.

Donna Guzzardi (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2437

I am a 75 year old retiree on a fixed income. As the prices of everything around us goes up, I should not have to jeopardize my life with worrying about the health insurance situation. Everything the unions did was underhanded and disrespectful to senior citizens. You will one day be in the same boat, Mayor Adams.

Thomas Smyth (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2445

Not one of my doctors will take MAPP nor did they know anything about it until retirees like me told them. In court, City lawyers admitted there were errors in the information we were given. Most troubling to me though is about Karen Ignagni, the CEO of Emblem who is on Mayor Adams’ Transition Team and who makes 3 million a year. Isn’t having her on his team a conflict of interest in trying to protect our health care? We dedicated our lives to NYC. We were in the trenches. She was a professional lobbyist. The Mayor is a NYC retiree. They might not have to worry about affording health care but mostly all NYC retirees do. Please, get rid of MAPP as it is and supportJudge Frank’s decision and NYC retirees.
My e-mail to Eric Adams:
Please get rid of this new Medicare Advantage Plan and support NYC retirees in keeping traditional Medicare - without adding almost $200 a month to do so. Not one of my doctors will take a Medicare Advantage Plan and in addition, they know nothing about this “special MAP for NYC retirees. In court, City lawyers admitted there were errors in the information we were given. Most troubling to me though is about Karen Ignagni on your transition team from Emblem who makes 3 million a year. Isn’t having her on your team a conflict of interest in trying to protect our ( and your) health care? We dedicated our lives to NYC. We were in the trenches. She was a professional lobbyist. You are a NYC retiree. You might not have to worry about affording your health care with your new position, but mostly all NYC retirees do. Please, get rid of MAP and support Judge Frank’s decision and NYC retirees.

#2446

I want to keep the insurance that I was promised when I retired.

Jessie Stanton (Flushing, 2022-03-14)

#2448

I am outraged that our union leadership would try to sell us out and try to convince us that an "Advantage Plan" would be better for us. We all know the truth. It diminishes our healthcare when we need it the most. I'm sticking with Medicare even if I have to pay more, which should not be the case.

Carol Albanese-Bay (New York, 2022-03-14)

#2451

I'M SIGNING THIS LETTER BECAUSE, I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN LIVING ON A VERY SMALL FIXED INCOME. I HAVE THIS HEALTH COVERAGE SINCE 1986, AND AT MY AGE ILLNESS IS ARRIVING. PLEASE DO NOT APPEAL JUDGE FRANK'S DECISION. THANK YOU

Beverly Schustal (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2452

The offered plan is inferior to my current plan. It is being falsely marketed using language that conceals details that harm retirees including but not limited to delaying access to critical care with pre-approvals (previously not required by traditional Medicare and providing misleading provider information.

Linda Lukas (The Bronx, 2022-03-14)

#2458

Originally signed with DSNY for a lower salary (vs Gaeta or Waste Mgmt), offset by better benefits and retirement benefits. This constitutes a contract with the city!!
Don’t break your commitment!!!

Kevin Tullo (Tampa, 2022-03-14)

#2467

I"m signing because this will affect me drastically financially in order to keep up with my medical care. After 32 years of service in NYC I would think that those in the governmental positions of it would take care of those who dedicated a lifetime to the citizens of this city.

Evelyn Nieves (BRONX, 2022-03-14)

#2468

The Retired Public Employees Association stands behind the principle that retirement benefits should not be diminished for those who have already retired.

Edward Farrell (Troy, NY, 2022-03-14)

Unhappy about the new health plan the city is forcing on the retirees

Robert Tardio (Howell, 2022-03-14)

THIS HELTH CARE PLAN WILL COST ME MORE THAN HALF MY PENSION. I NEED MEDICARE BECAUSE OF KIDNEY DIALYSIS.

ELLEN LEE (BROOKLYN, 2022-03-14)

#2481

Some person, employed by an insurance company looking to maximize profit, should not be deciding whether or not I need a test or a procedure

John Maguire (Rockaway, 2022-03-14)

#2483

My job at the DOE had an enormous negative impact on my mental and physical health. The ONLY reason I hung on was because of the insurance. I'm sure I am not alone. Furthermore, having been the caretaker for a parent with dementia, I cannot imagine how people now in their 80s and 90s can be expected to navigate this change. That just seems unconscionable.

Rachel Cline (Brooklyn, 2022-03-14)

#2484

Iwas treated like crap by disgruntled administrators the last years of my teaching career. I deserve better!!!None of the doctors here in VA accept Alliance. Already called and asked.

This move is unfair .

Kathleen Lynch (Breezy Point, 2022-03-14)

#2495

I'm signing this petition because I remember the days of pre approvals and does my doctor take my insurance and how horrificly anxiety laden it was when I was young. Now that I’m older I cannot go through that and the idea of ripping our current Medicare based coverage which is great, for a “for profit” iffy plan is so upsetting to me that I will pay the additional approximately $400 a month for my husband and I to have quality care even that that will be a huge hit to our budget and it’s so unfair!!!

Barbara Scott (Hallstead, PA, 2022-03-14)

#2497

We deserve what we worked and were promised.

Upon employment with the FDNY I was promised the same healthcare when retired as I had while employed.

Kenneth Dolan (Smithtown, 2022-03-14)

#2509

I'm signing this because I believe that retirees should get the benefits they were told they would get when they signed the contract to work for the City of New York. Any benefits that the city wants to contractually change should be negotiated with the retirees unions.

The Union & City is trying to Screw us

Louis Vaccaro jr (Marlboro, 2022-03-14)

#2543

I am signing because I paid for this benefit over a 27 year career. Contract negotiations during years of record city income fueled by the work of my agency resulted in lower pay raises based on the benefits to be provided to us after retirement. The change in benefits being enacted are a breach of contract.

Charles Talamo (Key West, 2022-03-14)

#2544

When I began working for the Board of Education, my salary was $5,300 a year. The exchange for such a ridiculous salary was good benefits. Why would you take them away now during my senior years.

Cynthia Murray (New York, 2022-03-14)

The city should honor their commitment to the retirees to be able to keep their present health insurance. We served the community with honor and the city should do the same for the retirees.

Bruce Paugh (Sarasota, 2022-03-14)

#2567

i WANT TO KEEP ORIGINAL mEDICARE and senior care. We worked all those years for these benefits which "Shall not be diminished", according to law.

I’m disappointed & disgusted that I have to fight for what was already agreed upon when active. Now when I’m retired and seriously ill, this is the last thing I should have to focus on.

Timothy Mccabe (North Bellmore, 2022-03-14)

#2572

I am retired on a fixed income and both my wife and have multiple medical problems.- We can not be forced to change my Doctors etc. as proper care for serious health problems, is only controlled because of the Doctors we have.

Robert Rainey (Monroe, 2022-03-14)

#2581

Our health benefits should be preserved as promised. It would be a big hardship to pay the penalty of $190. + X 2 ( me and my husband) to retain our current plan.

I want you to understand that this new plan is awful. Many of us are depending on our medical insurance to cover us thru retirement. Some of my doctors will not accept the advantage plan, please, as a city employee let our plan continue.
