Save the Foster Children!
This petition is to make a case and statement against Social services, for their neglect and oblivious attitude towards abuse in foster homes around the UK. I have many stories to tell and I want people who are currently in care or have left care to share their experiences. To give evidence that we are not alone in these circumstances and that Social Services are not doing enough!
Eventually I would like to progress this to making higher people known, to make social services suffer the actions of their consequences and see their wrongs!
Social services need to do more about the children and young people they place into homes that are abusive or neglectful. And don’t listen to the children or make up excuses to not remove this child from the “home”. There are children all around the Uk and world who are surviving in abusive and neglectful homes because their social worker won’t move them or won’t listen to their words. I am aware that there is a shortage of foster carers in the Uk currently but that’s not an excuse for them to allow this child to suffer. This will help everyone in care and maybe those out of care have closure if the horrors they suffered with their time in the Social Services care. Sex trafficking of children, neglecting children simply because they’re not their biological children and simply allowing people to foster just for the money. Social Services need a better plan, need more people and background checks.
I was placed into care at the age of 13, and was moved to 8 different homes within the first 9 months. I had been in a sex trafficking home where I had to escape in the middle of the night because they wanted to “go on a trip” and was warned by another girl what their plan was. I had a bedroom made from plastic walls that was attached to the parents bedroom that had holes in and could see into my room, with a police lock on the door because they didn’t trust their son.
My brother who is only 13 currently, was left abandoned at school with no way home after his foster carer told him he wasn’t allowed to come back home and then was later bought back to the home where they abused and neglected him!
A friend was abused her entire time through foster care and social service wouldn’t move her because she wouldn’t speak up as she was too afraid. Children are being raped, abused, sold, mistreated by people who are paid to look after them because social services decided their families were too bad.
