Highland's to host international product for Culture 2014

The Touring Network has been approached by Creative Scotland, and Glasgow 2014, to host a number of the cultural offerings from Scotland and The Commonwealth that will be performing as part of the Commonwealth Games 2014.

This high profile 'cultural journey' will be programmed in the run up to the Games and will be marketed at local residents and the tourists that will be coming to Scotland for the Commonwealth Games 2014.

This is a huge opportunity for The Highlands, for performing arts, for local communities, promoters and for The Touring Network.

It will see some very high quality pieces of work coming to the area, ahead of performing at Festival 2014; and being hosted by local communities as well as allowing us the opportunity to market & PR all of this, as well as The Highlands, around the Commonwealth 2014 brand.

We are now asking promoters to support us to access funding to:

• bring theatre, music and dance from the commonwealth to perform in Highland Venues
• To bring theatre, music and dance, chosen to represent Scotland in Glasgow 2014, to the Highlands of Scotland in the run up to the Commonwealth Games 2014
• To ensure that promoters are able to come together in a supported marketing campaign around the above
• To enusre the greatest number of communities and residents are able to acces the above.
