change the schools xmas holiday dates 2018

Who feels the children finished school too late this year? 

I am a Mum of 2 school children and them finishing on Friday December 22nd killed the Xmas spirit and build up we normally have as a family.

 

normally when they finish around the 18th ish we have a day out somewhere festive , a couple of duvet days chilling watching Xmas movies before the official festivities start and we can get everything done without rushing the children everywhere and letting them relax a bit before Xmas as many of us visit family or family and friends come over etc.

 

the children now are not back until the 8th and 9th of January which is ridiculous 

the children are bored for one and there's nothing festive now Xmas is over 

 

another reason why I and others would like the children to finish earlier and go back earlier is most businesses slow down towards Xmas.

i run my own business and cut off dates have gone for my clients to order from the 17th ish so I'm ready to close apart from the odd collection. My husband is a wagon driver and his work slows down the last week too so juggling the children is easy that side of Xmas. This side.....husband is back full time from the 2nd and me self employed has to take 2 children and a baby to work with me so I can at least work some hours. Again this isn't fair on children being passed from pillar to post or taken to work.

Christmas 2018 dates are finish 21st December and go back to school 7th January 2019
