Unfortunately our useless council have decided not to remove the bollards and have blamed the cost. Extremely disappointed in the result and now we have to wait even longer for them to do something about School Road. Please feel free to keep contacting the council and express your concerns by lodging complaints via https://www.ipswich.qld.gov.au/live/issues-and-laws/nuisances-and-complaints/complaints and contacting our local councillor Sheila Ireland on sheila.ireland@ipswich.qld.gov.au . Unfortunately even a child getting hit has not persuaded them to do anything. I think we may need to attend to this ourselves as we cannot rely on the council to do anything.

Update

Hi all,
Just a quick update to advise that the matter was raised in a Council meeting.
The meeting can be viewed in the below link and starts at around the 11 minute mark. (You may need to copy and paste this)
This was the response I recently received in relation to the progress:
Thank you for raising a petition with Council. Given that this matter has been raised at committee through the formal process Council officers are now required to provide a formal report in response, to the relevant committee. It is anticipated that this report will be provided for Council consideration by the end of the calendar year.
You will be advised of the outcome when this occurs.
Hopefully we have a solution soon.
Thank you
C Elliott
